MARION — An entomologist with Plymouth County led an “entertaining and helpful program” regarding the importance of insects to a community group at the Marion Natural History Museum on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Entomologist Blake Dinius gave a presentation about “how one species can affect so many others in our ecosystem,” according to the Marion Natural History Museum.

“The smallest most insignificant looking insect may play a big role in whether or not a species of tree or flower survives,” material from the museum said.

Dinius also gave attendees ideas on measures that could be taken to preserve lawns for family activities while allowing other areas to remain wild for insects and wildlife, according to the museum.
