MATTAPOISETT — A Mattapoisett landmark will serve as the site for a car meet that doubles as a fundraiser for the fight against cancer.

The 8th annual “Jeeps & Peeps 4 Hope” is Saturday, Aug. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ned’s Point Lighthouse in Mattapoisett.

All Jeep makes and models are welcome at the event, where attendees can enjoy the “beautiful waterfront" at Ned’s Point while helping to fundraise for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, promotional material said.

A donation of $10 is required per Jeep. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

The event represents the hope “that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, those battling cancer will always be supported, all the survivors be honored and one day cancer will be eliminated.”
