Joaquina A. (Mattos) Lombard, 92, of Wareham died Saturday, April 12 at Tremont Skilled Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wareham after a long illness.  She was the wife of the late John J. Lombard.

Born in Wareham and a life-long resident, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise (Vincent) Mattos. Mrs. Lombard enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen Lombard and his wife Jocelyn of Mattapoisett and John Lombard and his wife Linda of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Patricia Sylvia and her husband William of Wareham and Cindy Correia and her husband Leslie of W. Wareham; three brothers, Dennis Mattos and Joseph Mattos both of Wareham and John Mattos of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, the late Mena Nunes, Agnes Barboza, Jack Mattos, Napoleon Mattos and Benjamin Mattos.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Wednesday, April 16 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be at a later date. Relatives and friends may visit on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
