To the Editor:

Kudos to our new Harbormaster Isaac Perry for sticking to the rules regarding mooring ownership in the Town of Marion, and a sincere thanks to the Selectmen for backing his decision to revoke Mr. Thorne's permit.

If you're a resident in Marion and on the waitlist for an inner harbor mooring, you know that the wait time is years long. Too many years have passed with people taking advantage of the blind eye and passive rules, i.e. owning multiple moorings, renting out moorings not being used, etc.

That being said, I will say that I too have had issues with the town in regards to receiving mail. Nevertheless, I take it upon myself to follow up on any existing bills not yet received. I think it's safe to assume after having paid the same bill every year that Mr. Thorne knows what's due and when.
