The Rochester Historical Society is hosting a lecture about the history of Rochester’s Memorial Day Boat Race down the Mattapoisett River at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20. Art Benner, who has served as chairperson of the race since 1982, will speak about the history of the race and how it works today. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the East Rochester Church and Museum, 355 County Road, Rochester. Refreshments will follow.
