MATTAPOISETT – Mattapoisett Congregational Church, UCC, will hold a Monday evening study series through Lent called “Sacrament, Social Justice, Scripture, and the Silver Screen.”

On Monday, March 18, the church will show the award-winning documentary, "For the Bible Tells Me So." The film follows the lives of four families as children discover their homosexuality.

Families include those of Chrissy Gephardt, daughter of former Democratic House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt, and the Right Rev. Gene Robinson, former Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire.

The documentary explores how the Bible has been used and misused in national and religious LGBTQI discussions.

All events will be held in the church’s basement media room at 6:30 p.m.

Please park in the church’s Barstow Street lot, and enter through the Barstow St. door.

For a complete schedule of films, please go to the church’s website: www.mattapoisettcongregationalchurch.org.
