The Mattapoisett Lions Club received approval from Selectmen on Tuesday to hold a new Fall Family Festival next month.

King Lion Kimberly Grodzki said the club may make the event a yearly one, and for the first festival there will be fall-themed activities, including hayrides and pin the nose on the pumpkin.

“All of this is free to the community,” said Grodzki.

The event will be at Shipyard Park on Oct. 29. Exact times have not been determined, but it will be in the afternoon with a possible movie screening in the evening.
