Lots to do at the Plumb Library in January

Jan 9, 2023
ROCHESTER – The Plumb Library in Rochester has a slew of events and programs running in the month of January. From knitting groups to book clubs, there’s something for everyone.

Looking for help with a tricky knitting project or the inspiration to try something new? Join the library’s weekly knitters group on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Beginners are welcome and chocolate is always served.

The Friends of Plumb Library will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friends work to raise funds to improve the library, help out by volunteering their time and talents and spread the word about the library and its importance. Come to the meeting to see what the Friends are all about.

Join the library’s monthly book club on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to discuss “Alone: Lost Overboard in the Indian Ocean” by Brett Archibald. Copies are available for checkout at the front desk. Light refreshments will be served.

A new scrambled word will be available to unscramble each week in January. There is a new word available every Monday through Saturday. A picture clue is available for pre-readers. Ask for the scrambled word at the front desk. Quietly share the answer with a librarian. Winners earn a small prize.
