Rochester shooting leaves Mattapoisett man dead, one in custody

ROCHESTER — A Mattapoisett resident was shot and killed in Rochester on Friday, April 7, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Rochester police responded to 259 New Bedford Road at approximately 9:34 p.m. for a reported shooting.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, the victim was identified as 41-year-old Mattapoisett resident Justin Doberck.
Police found Doberck with a single gunshot wound. According to police scanner audio, the victim was shot in the chest.
He was brought to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Rochester Police Department, the shooting resulted from an argument.
The alleged shooter, Rochester resident Cody Perry, 34, has been charged with homicide.
The case is currently under investigation.
