MARION — The Board of Selectmen will approach the second finalist, Katherine Milligan,  for their open Treasurer-Collector position after they could not finish contract negotiations with Susan Laak. 

Milligan currently serves as Assistant Treasurer-Collector in Orleans. She has sixteen years of municipal experience. 

“I would like to take the next step and become treasurer-collector. I feel confident that I can do that on my own,” Milligan said at a Feb. 8 interview with the Selectmen. 

Selectmen had initially decided on Susan Laak, but said in a Feb. 19 meeting that they were unable to complete contract negotiations with her. They had offered Milligan the job, and she had asked for time to consider the offer.
