The Marion Art Center, located at 80 Pleasant Street, in Marion will offer a beginner and intermediate class called “Direct Painting in Oil” from April 12 through June 14.

The 10-week course is will be offered on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will be taught by painter Robert Abele, III.

The course will focus on creating paintings with a limited palette of only primary colors on small canvases. This class will use still life and landscape as the main subject working from studio set ups to plein air landscapes done directly from life.

The fee for the course is $210 for Art Center members and $225 for non-members. Materials are not included.
