Marion Art Center cancels play, alters classes because of coronavirus

Mar 13, 2020

MARION — The town’s Art Center has postponed its production of “The Fox on the Fairway,” which was set to open on Friday, March 13 to avoid the audience or crew getting coronavirus. The art center will also not register participants for any new classes.

The art center called the decision, “incredibly difficult,” but said that it was prompted to act after speaking with the town’s Board of Health and observing many other arts organizations in the area.

“We realize that this is the right decision to ensure the safety of our members, visitors, volunteers and performers,” the group wrote on its website.

All tickets will be refunded or held until the later performance. The Art Center will make an announcement via email and on social media when it is able to reschedule the production.

Small group classes may still run, or be rescheduled for a later date.

The art center is also taking extra precautions daily to disinfect all surfaces. Contact the Marion Art Center at 508-748-1266 with questions or concerns.
