Marion Art Center to host radio show May 18
The Marion Art Center Players will present an old fashioned radio show “Rick Lowell – Private Eye: The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of,” on May 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. and May 20 at 4 p.m.
An original radio drama series written and scored by Tony Palermo, the show is an original 1940’s-style detective drama series similar to “The Adventures of Sam Spade” or “Philip Marlow.”
It’s a three-part series of 20-minute episodes where Rick searches for the movie-prop of “The Maltese Falcon” movie and runs into Nazi agents, crooked dames, snooty art dealers, actors playing English detectives and dangerous gangsters.
Audience participation is highly encouraged and anyone willing may take their turn at the sound effects table. Characterizations will be performed by the Marion Art Center Players.
Tickets are $12.50 for members and $15 for non-members. Cabaret seating is available for reserved parties of 4. Reservations can be made by calling Marion Art Center at 508-748-1266.
