Marion Board of Health looking for Community Emergency Response Team volunteers

Sep 1, 2020

MARION — The Marion Board of Health is looking for volunteers to be a part of the town’s Community Emergency Response Team.

The CERT program is a federal initiative that educates volunteers about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

The board is looking for all kinds of volunteers for the team, not just those who have medical expertise.

“We look forward to having a team that’s functioning and well,” said Board of Health Clerk John Howard at the board’s Sept. 1 meeting.

To sign up to be a part of Marion’s Community Emergency Response Team, contact Maureen Murphy, administrative assistant for the Board of Health, at (508) 748-3530 or Health Agent David Flaherty at (508) 748-3533.
