The First Congregational Church will be hosting a chowder and soup tasting on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. 

A maximum of 10 cooks will be accepted for the event, so participants are urged to register for a spot ahead of time. There is no charge of admission for cooks and each cook will be given a gift. 

The event begins with hors d’oeuvres and wine before chowder and soups are served. Desserts and coffee will end the night.

Admission is $10 per adult, $5 for students and children at the door. 

The event will be held at the church’s Community Center located at 144 Front St. in Marion. The building is handicap accessible with a chair lift to the second floor. 

For cooks to register, they must call 508-748-1053 to reserve they’re spot.
