Marion Classic brings out the antique cars on Silvershell Beach
For antique car aficionados, Silvershell Beach is the place to be this weekend.
On Saturday, July 21, the second annual Marion Classic Antique Auto Show will kick off at 8 a.m., courtesy of the Recreation Department.
Antique car lovers, Marion Recreation Director Jody Dickerson and fellow organizer Jeff DeMoura said they are hoping to surpass last year’s success with the show.
“Everybody loves their antique cars, and if you don’t have one, you love to see them,” DeMoura said.
Dickerson agreed.
“A lot of people in the area have classic antiques and hot rods,” he said.
“You couldn’t find a better location to have the show than Silvershell Beach.”
DeMoura said the beach just lends itself to an “unbelievable” location for the show.
“You get to see the sunset, and last year people were just amazed at the view,” he said.
Proceeds from the show go towards the Recreation Department’s programs and the upkeep of the town’s facilities.
