MARION — The Independence Day fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m on July 5 at Silvershell Beach.

The Marion Fireworks Committee advises guests to bring a blanket and take advantage of the high tide at noon. Food trucks will be set up by 1 p.m. on the lawn near the bathhouse.

Wood-fired pizza from Ahhh Roma, freshly popped kettlecorn from Cape Cod Kettle Corn, lobster rolls and chicken salad from Robert Wing Catering, ice cream, cotton candy, Italian ice from Plymouth Party, juices and cookies from Flour Girls, and fresh salads and fruits from Fieldstone Farm will be served as concessions.

The Sippican Band will start off the Fourth of July Concert sometime around dusk and food trucks will be on site until the end of the show.

As skies become darker, students from the Old Rochester AmbassadOR program will be selling glow sticks and novelties as part of their fundraising efforts.

The fireworks display may be postponed if there is rain or heavy fog. A rain date has been set for July 6.
