Marion to keep transfer station, privilege sticker costs the same
MARION — Town Administrator Jay McGrail called the first year of running the transfer station “a complete success” and recommended that the Select Board leave the costs of transfer station stickers or privilege stickers at current rates for 2022.
Transfer and privilege stickers will also stay the same for Rochester residents. Privilege stickers are $10 for those under 70, and free for those over 70. Transfer Station Stickers are $50 for those under 70 and $40 for residents over 70 and veterans.
Transfer Station stickers expire at the end of the year.
The funds raised by the stickers this year seem to be enough to keep the transfer station “in the black,” McGrail said at a Dec. 7 Select Board meeting. He added that he would take a more extensive look at the numbers at the end of the year, but the Select Board was content to take no action on sticker fees based on his initial appraisal.
