Marion Masons get new Master

MARION - The Masons of the Pythagorean Lodge in Marion welcomed in the group’s new officers on Saturday, including a new Master Mason.

Longtime Mason Dino Valenti was officially installed as the newest head Mason. He was described by Wally Therrien, Deputy Grand Master of of District 19, as a “worker ant,” for his ability to take on so many responsibilities. 

Valenti was installed by his brother, Donald Valenti Jr.

“Every Master Mason is installed by a brother,” Therrien said, “but I’ve never seen one installed by his actual brother.”

Masonry candidates go through stages before becoming a "Master," or a full-time member. The three degrees are entered apprentice, fellowcrafts and master mason.
