Jun 13, 2025

MARION — The Sippican Lands Trust and Marion Art Center are joining forces for what is set to be an artfully crafted summer of art.

From June through September all artists will have the opportunity to paint benches in the Osprey Marsh, Peirson Woods and White Eagle. Benches are available to all artists, who must bring their own supplies.

On Tuesday, June 24, artist Dena Haden’s exhibit “Love is a Circle” is opening at the Osprey Marsh. Haden specializes in installation and fiber-based art, using natural materials to create her pieces. Haden’s artwork will be on display at Osprey Marsh, which is where she gathered the materials for her pieces. The show, which begins at 4 p.m., is free for members and $10 for non-members. Registration for this event is requested.

The Marion Art Center’s Summer Members’ Show will be held from Thursday, Aug. 21 through Friday, Sept. 19 at the Marion Art Center Gallery.

Members interested in taking part in the Summer Members’ show will have until Tuesday, Aug. 19 to drop off their pieces. Drop off dates will be Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Members are also encouraged to use the benches at the Sippican Lands Trust properties.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
