Marion police and firefighters responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Front Street and Route 6 Friday afternoon.

According to initial emergency broadcasts, the accident occurred shortly before noon and involved a Mattapoisett resident and a Wareham resident.

Police Chief Lincoln Miller said no one involved in the accident was transported to the hospital.

"There was more damage to the vehicles than anything else," Miller said.

An officer is still investigating the cause of the accident, he said.

Police officers redirected traffic around the intersection. Marion fire department trucks and ambulances also responded. In the middle of the intersection a small black car could be seen with significant front-end damage.

A tow truck arrived on the scene at 12:21 p.m.
