Marion receives $88,779 for roadway improvements

MARION – The town of Marion will receive an additional $88,779 in state funds to be used to improve town roads, sidewalks and bridges.

According to a press release, the money is in addition to funding the town receives annually through the Commonwealth's Chapter 90 program, which provides funding to municipalities for capital improvements on local public ways.

In Fiscal Year 2024, Marion received $168,493.69 in Chapter 90 funds.

“This supplemental allocation is part of $100 million in Fiscal 2024 Fair Share Amendment funds distributed by the Commonwealth” read the press release.

Municipalities are able to access and use these funds immediately without needing project approval.
