MARION — Wiley Wakeman of Marion secured a tie-breaker third place finish in the June 21 Spruce Point Inn Cup.

The Maine Model Yacht Club and Spruce Point Inn hosted the third annual Spruce Point Inn Regatta 1 in Boothbay Harbor as part of Boothbay Harbor Windjammer Days.
The event attracted radio-controlled yacht skippers from across Maine and New England, including competitors from Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Mount Desert Island.
Sailors competed in three races on a challenging course designed and managed by Race Director Peter Wilson of Camden, who adapted the racing throughout the day to changing conditions on the harbor.
Jeff Van Peski claimed first place overall, followed by Wiley Wakeman in second.
John Coale of Cumberland Center finished third after a tiebreaker.
