Accolades keep coming for the Old Rochester Bulldogs basketball team.

Marion Selectmen declared April 7 as Old Rochester Regional High School Bulldogs basketball day during a brief ceremony at the board’s Tuesday night meeting.

“You have made the tri-town area very proud of what you’ve done,” Selectman Jody Dickerson said. “Very few schools have won the Division 3 state championship.

The entire team, coach Steve Carvalho, High School Principal Mike Devoll and family and friends attended.

It was Dickerson’s idea to honor the boys. He read a proclamation and then the team received a copy of the decree and a photograph of it celebrating on court after the win.

Last month, the Bulldogs defeated Hoosac Valley High School 61-47 at the DCU Center in Worcester. The win secured ORR’s first ever Division III basketball championship.
