Marion thanks Sippican Historical Society for Town House Donations

Though the Town House front entrance renovations are well underway, Marion Selectmen and Town Administrator Jay McGrail posed with Will Tift and Frank McNamee at a “groundbreaking” photo-op on Oct. 17.
MARION — Following the Elizabeth Taber statue ceremony on Oct. 17, the Board of Selectmen thanked the Sippican Historical Society for its donations to the town house renovations.
Donations from the Sippican Historical Society totaled over half a million dollars, according to Vice Chair John Waterman.
The board thanked historical society President Will Tift and former President Frank McNamee. Town administrator Jay McGrail said both played instrumental roles in the donation of the front entrance project and restoration of the town hall annex.
“The town would not be where we are today with these projects without the support from SHS,” McGrail said.
