MARION — A total of 55 town employees will receive grant-funded cyber-security awareness training.

The funds came from the Massachusetts Municipal Cybersecurity Awareness Grant Program, which funds training to help government and school employees identify, avoid and defend against cyber attack.

In addition to training to help employees recognize threats, the program includes ongoing simulation activities and additional training for those who need it.

“I am very pleased that a total of 1,331 local employees in the district I represent will be receiving expert cybersecurity training as part of this year’s annual grant awards,” said Senator Marc Pacheco.  “In order to effectively serve residents and families, local government and public school employees need the right tools and training to protect sensitive information.  The modern world hinges on our ability to confidently share information with one another online, and I am glad to have supported this initiative that helps shield our public systems against the threat of cyberattack.”
