Marion Zoning Board Chair Bob Wedge resigns
After 16 years with the Marion Zoning Board, Chair Bob Wedge resigned from the board effective immediately.
In a letter to the Selectmen dated November 13, Wedge cited the reasoning for his resignation.
“Serving the community over the years has been a privilege. A business and other personal interests are leading me down a new path requiring demands on my time that are inescapable,” Wedge wrote in the letter.
On Tuesday night, Selectman Jody Dickerson and Selectmen Chair Stephen Cushing offered their gratitude for Wedge’s many years of service to Marion.
“He’s done an outstanding job,” Dickerson said.
Cushing agreed.
“He has always put the town of Marion first,” Cushing said. “He tries to balance the needs of the board with the needs of the applicant. He was fair and it’s going to be tough to replace him.”
Zoning Board member Eric Pierce was elected as interim Chair in Wedge's place.
