Mattapoisett Boy Scout Freemin Bauer handed over a check for almost $1,600 to Animal Control Officer Kelly Massey of the Fairhaven Animal Shelter on Monday.

Bauer is working on his Eagle Scout badge, and has done multiple fundraisers to benefit the shelter including a dog walk through Mattapoisett. With Troop 53, he began making improvements to the shelter last year. Bauer will now work on submitting his paperwork to get his badge.
