Mattapoisett celebrates autumn with festivities
Oct 28, 2013
Mattapoisett residents celebrated fall last weekend with several events that highlighted the season.
On Friday, the PTA held a Halloween party for families at Old Hammondtown School. Kids and teachers wore ghoulish costumes and enjoyed a number of activities, including a haunted house.
The Mattapoisett Library held its annual scarecrow contest on Saturday afternoon. A vintage Girl Scout uniform inspired mom Keri Benson, who found the outfit at Savers.
The scouts of Mattapoisett troop 75429 brought life to the uniform by creating a sash, complete with merit badges, and outfitting their scarecrow with a few boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
The King of Pop also made an appearance with a creatively designed Michael Jackson scarecrow.
