Mattapoisett Congregational Church to hold remembrance service, plans for the holidays
MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Congregational Church will hold a special remembrance service, a game night and prepare for a holiday services this month.
Sunday, Oct. 27 will be Remembrance Sunday at the Congregational Church. During this service, the church celebrates family members and loved ones who have passed away over the last year. To celebrate the life of a loved one, contact Tina in the church office as soon as possible.
The church also holds Centering Prayer and Meditation on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. in the Living Room/Prayer Room downstairs. Members share prayer, joys and concerns, a brief devotional, then sit in prayer/quiet meditation for 20 minutes. Participants should park in the Barstow Street lot, and enter through the Barstow Street door. To ask for a prayer for yourself or others, please drop a note in the blue mailbox outside the prayer room, across from the Choir practice room. Your note need not be detailed. God knows the desires of your heart.
- The Mattapoisett Congregational Church is accepting jewelry donations for the holiday fair it holds in December—even broken jewelry is okay. The church also needs small jewelry boxes . Donations can be turned into Tina in the church office.
- The church will hold a youth-only Game Night on Oct. 13th. Will the group play $10,000 Pyramid or Family Feud? The will take it to a vote, then play.
