Mattapoisett Cub Scout Pack 53 held its annual Pinewood Derby race on Saturday. The event gave the boys a chance to show off the look and speed of the small wooden cars each had assembled.
The competition was tough and had the Scouts cheering and jumping with excitement.
Top prizes included a ribbon and an official Pinewood Derby patch.
For the Tigers, Derek Moreau took first, second place went to Zach Leblanc, and Andrew Scott took third place. In the Bears group, James Pierson's car finished first, Christopher Bell took second, and Paul McLaughlin took third. Of the Webelos, Nick Lumbard came in first, Billy Osborne took second, and Luke Couto took third place.
