MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Disability Commission will apply for funding from the Disability Municipal ADA Improvement Grant to make the Shipyard Park Gazebo and its surrounding area mobility accessible.

The commission identified six items at Shipyard Park to make accessible, including the route to the gazebo stairs, the path to an information marker near the gazebo, the ramp to the gazebo, the gazebo handrails and first step, the route to picnic table near gazebo and the route to a gazebo bench.

The Select Board approved the request to apply for grant funding to alter the gazebo area and move forward with the project at a meeting on Tuesday, March 25.
