Mattapoisett election today

Apr 7, 2015

It looks like it's going to be a quiet election season with no contested races for Mattapoisett's May 19 town election.

Selectman Paul Silva is running unchallenged for his third term on the board. For Planning Board, Ronald Merlo has decided not to run and Nathan Ketchel has put his name in for the seat.

On the Mattapoisett School Committee, incumbents Harry Hunt and James Muse are looking for another term.

The other races and offices are as follows: Assessor – Leonard Coppola, Trustee of Public Library (vote for two) – William Asci and Amy Lignitz-Harken, Moderator – John Eklund, Water/Sewer Commissioner – Albert Meninno, Jr., Highway Surveyor – Barry Denham, Board of Health – Russell Bailey, Board of Health (to fill a vacancy) – Kenneth Dawicki, Mattapoisett Housing Authority (to fill a vacancy) – Suzanne Kennedy, Community Preservation Committee.

Polling will take place May 19 at Old Hammondtown School from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The last day to register to vote is April 21.
