Mattapoisett Lions Club Snow Ball a 'fabulous event'

Feb 15, 2017

To the Editor:

As president of the Mattapoisett Lions Club I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who assisted with and/or attended our first Valentine’s Snow Ball fundraiser. The fabulous event was held on Feb. 10 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mattapoisett. We were very fortunate to receive generous donations from a number of corporate sponsors as well as to have many fabulous prizes donated by local vendors for our Roarin’ Raffle.

Attendees enjoyed a wonderful catered dinner, music and dancing, door prize and raffle prizes. Some attendees won two lovely gifts and one guest won three. We were also fortunate to have one person apply to become a member of our club. We are always looking for new members as the work we do to support local residents in need, scholarships, Massachusetts Lions’ eye research and diabetes awareness, to name a few, unfortunately, never ends.

The Mattapoisett Lions Club, in existence since 1953, is part of Lions Clubs International which serves worldwide. Annually, our biggest fundraiser of the year is the Harbor Days festival held at Shipyard Park, which is attended by approximately 10,000 people. This year the festival will be held July 9 through July 16.

Please check our website for more information about our club and the work we do, www.mattapoisettlionsclub.org, or contact us via email, mattlionsclub@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Kimberly A. Ray, President
