Mattapoisett remembers Sandy Hook victims
Dec 20, 2012
With candles in hand, a large group gathered at Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett on Wednesday night to remember the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
“Tonight we gather together by the common bond of profound sadness,” said Center School Principal Rose Bowman, who also read the names of each victim.
Father Paul Caron of St. Anthony’s Parish and Pastor Amy Lignitz Harken offered prayers for the families and friends of those killed in the tragedy.
Members of the Showstoppers also sang several songs.
The Mattapoisett Library has a table set up where residents can write notes of condolence to families.
