Mattapoisett reports confirmed coronavirus cases
The Mattapoisett Board of Health confirmed on March 30 that there are positive cases of coronavirus in town, but did not disclose the number, who was impacted or where they are being treated.
At this time, the town is not able to give further information.
As of writing there are no confirmed cases in Rochester and Marion, but with testing available only sparsely statewide, there are most likely unconfirmed cases in both towns.
Mattapoisett Board of Health agent Kayla Davis said that the best advice for residents to follow is to know, plan and prepare: Know that there are confirmed cases in the town, plan to stay home and prepare to move forward in this way.
“If they can stay home, that’s the best plan for Mattapoisett,” said Davis.
Mattapoisett residents can call Davis Monday through Friday, 8 to 9 a.m. to ask any questions or to voice concerns.
As of Sunday, there are 325 confirmed cases of the virus in Plymouth County, a 19% increase from the previous day. There was a 1,200% increase in the number of confirmed cases from March 22 to March 29 in the county.
