MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Road Race will be held on Aug. 21, instead of its usual July 4 date this year.

The race will begin at 9 a.m., and will support college-bound Old Rochester Regional High School recent graduates.

The race is typically five miles, but this year the course has been shortened to a 5K.

The course winds through Mattapoisett Center, circles the Ned’s Point Lighthouse and finishes in Shipyard Park.

Register for the race online at mattapoisettroadrace.com. Entry is $30 and non-refundable.

Registration runs through Aug. 21, but the registration deadline for participants who want t-shirts is Aug. 1.

Bib and t-shirt pickup will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on the day of the race.

The start line will be at North Street between Captain’s Lane and Church Street.

Parking will be available at Center School, Ying Dynasty or St. Anthony’s Catholic Church
