MATTAPOISETT — Town Administrator Michael Lorenco announced changes to Town Hall hours after Mattapoisett was classified as a “red” community on the state covid map at a Board of Selectmen meeting on Oct. 27.

Lorenco said that the Mattapoisett Free Public Library will remain closed, but will continue to offer curbside service.

Lorenco said Town Hall hours will likely shorten after early voting for the Nov. 3 election is complete, also due to Mattapoisett’s status as a red community. 

“The hope is that we can get out of the red ASAP, but we are joined by many other communities,” Lorenco said, adding that “covid is still here.”
