Mattapoisett town election is today

Mattapoisett's annual town election is today, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Old Hammondtown School.

Jordan Collyer is running uncontested to keep his seat on the Board of Selectmen. Former candidate Tim O'Connor's name will still be on the ballot, though he has withdrawn from the race.

In contested races, incumbent Patrick LeClair and newcomers Rachel Westgate and Daniel Wright are running for two seats on the Mattapoisett School Committee.

Incumbent Roland Cote is running against Michael King for tree warden.

Three people are running for two seats on the Community Preservation Committee – incumbents Jodi Bauer and John DeCosta and James Layton.

The remaining candidates are as follows: incumbent Cary LeBlanc for assessor, incumbents Mary Magee and James Dildine for library trustee, John Ecklund for moderator, Dana Barrows for Water and Sewer Commissioner, incumbent Kenneth Dawicki for Board of Health, incumbent Karen Field for Planning Board, Leda Kim for Mattapoisett Housing Authority, Faust Fiore for Old Rochester Regional School Committee, incumbents Paul Magee and Kenneth Pacheco for constable, incumbent Robert Martin for herring inspector.
