The Mattapoisett Woman's Club has awarded four scholarship to Mattapoisett high school seniors graduating this year.

Three students were chosen from Old Rochester Regional High School. Morgan Browning, daughter of Karen and John Browning, will attend the University of Florida. Her interests lie the fields of social sciences, math and education.

Victoria Caton, daughter of Jacqueline and Robert Gene Caton, will study at Curry College for a bachelor of science in nursing.

Michael Kassabian, son of Laurie and Jay Kassabian, will attend Harvard University where he wishes to study in multiple disciplines and use his knowledge for the benefit of others.

The fourth scholarship goes to Abigail Rottler, a student at Bristol County Agricultural High School. She has been interested in the ocean since age 3 and plans to study marine biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

The students were chosen for their academic excellence, community service and extracurricular activities.

The Mattapoisett Woman’s Club thanks the community for its support of the Garden Tour and Taste of the Town (during Harbor Days). Funds from those activities pay for the scholarships.
