MATTAPOISETT — The Fire Station Building Committee will participate in a League of Women Voters Meet and Greet the Candidates event on Sunday April 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the library meeting room at 7 Barstow St.

The proposed new fire station will be article 1 on the May 13 Town Meeting warrant. The architect’s renderings and site plans for the new fire station will be available for viewing.

The project would be constructed on the parcel of land on Route 6 adjacent to the Police Station, and would fix health code violations in the current building and give the Fire Department more room to store equipment. Members of the Building Committee will be on hand to answer questions.
