Meet Marion's 2012 Town Election candidates

May 15, 2012

Despite a number of open seats, Marion has only two contested races in the 2012 Town Election.

There are two candidates vying for one seat on the Board of Selectmen, and three candidates running for two seats on the Planning Board.

The uncontested races include seats on the Board of Assessors, Board of Health, School Committee, Open Space Acquisition Commission, as well as town Moderator.

Before the May 25 election, we will be sitting down with some of the candidates, so be sure to check back for updated profiles as they come in.

Selectmen:

Running for the Board of Selectmen are Ted North, a member of the town's Planning Board and the Capital Improvement Planning Committee, and Recreation Department Director Jody Dickerson.

Dickerson, who previously served as a town Selectman, seeks to better the communication between the town boards, as well as with the public. North, a first-time Selectman candidate, said he will rely on his experience with the finances and planning process of the town to better manage local government.
