Memorial Day events in Marion

Members of the Benjamin D. Cushing Post 2425 Veterans of Foreign wars will place flowers on the graves of deceased veterans of all wars on May 25 at 10 a.m. The placement of flowers will start at Evergreen Cemetery and then proceed to three other cemeteries in Marion. Anyone interested in assisting is welcome.

On Monday, May 27, the Annual Town of Marion Memorial Day parade and observances will begin at 9 a.m. at the Music Hall on the corner of Front and Cottage Streets.

The observances will commence with the raising of the flag, followed by the National Anthem, and a short ceremony. The parade will then proceed through the Village with ceremonies at Town Hall, Old Landing Cemetery, and Old Veterans Memorial Park. Light refreshments will be served at the end of the parade. In case of rain, all services will take place at Sippican School.

All veterans are invited to participate.
