A mindfulness walk in the woods

MATTAPOISETT — Take some time out of the human world and join the Mattapoisett Land Trust in a mindfulness walk at the Brandt Island Cove District.
The 90-minute walk of quiet nature-focused time will be led by Kathleen Urquhart and will be based on her approach to mindfulness outdoors.
The walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Anchorage Way kiosk, which is on the corner of Anchorage Way and Tara Road.
The walk will involve some gentle movements and slow walking over uneven terrain. Participants will also be invited to sit on the ground for a short period of time.
The session is open to adults who are comfortable with the mobility described. Participants should bring a towel to sit on, sunscreen and bug repellent and wear sturdy shoes.
