More than just books: Elizabeth Taber Library offering events

Apr 6, 2025

MARION — The Elizabeth Taber Library looks to keep the community busy with events this spring following the grand re-opening.

Need help figuring out what to do with the April showers? Usher in May flowers with the return of the Seed Library. Visitors to the library can check out free seed packets gardening and can browse the collection of gardening and back yard homesteading books.

Preschool story times will be held on Mondays at 1:30 with no sign-up required to attend.

Tuesday mornings are Messy Mornings. At 10:30 a.m. Miss Macy will host craft projects for children to explore some creative projects. Those attending are encouraged to dress for the mess — no sign-up required.

Patty Besnon will be hosting basket weaving workshops every Saturday in April in the library’s new event space. Each session will have participants creating a completed basket — minimal space is available for the final wine basket weaving April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To register for the workshop contact the library at ETLibrary@sailsinc.org or call (508) 748-1252.

Tickets are on sale for An Afternoon Tea at the Marion Music Hall Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. Local singer and songwriter Grace Morrison will perform as guests enjoy tea and elegance.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Elizabeth Taber Library from 2 p.m. to close until Friday, April 11 or until they are sold out. Cash or check only — questions regarding this event should be directed to Michelle at periwinkles4@hotmail.com
