Multiple units respond to Marion two-acre brush fire

MARION — A helicopter from the State Air Wing spotted smoke coming from an out of control brushfire on Delano Road Friday, March 28.
The multiple Marion Fire Department units who responded to the call at around 2 p.m. were assisted by Wareham Fire Department’s special engine Breaker 401, which is designed for more difficult terrain.
Upon arrival the homeowner of the property had mostly extinguished the fire spanning about two acres. The burn was not severe and there were no injuries reported.
There were no active burn bans in effect in the area at the time of the incident and Fire Chief Brian Jackvony said the fire department updates the burn status based on conditions daily.
