Nature Explorers, Seahorse Explorers camps still open
The following Mattapoisett Recreation programs are still accepting campers:
Nature Explorers Camp
From July 20 to 24, kids 8 to 11 can explore Mattapoisett’s natural areas including Eel Pond, Ned’s Point, Mattapoisett River, and area salt marshes and aquaculture operations. Each day they will participate in activities that includ hands-on exploration, experiments, crafts and journaling.
The program is run in conjunction with Marion Natural History Museum by Director/Lead Educator Elizabeth Leidhold. Space is limited. To register, go to www.mattapoisett.net and click on Matt Rec then Nature Explorers.
Seahorse Explorers Camp
The Seashorse Explorers runs for eight weeks, from June 22 to Aug. 14. The camp is open to girls and boys entering grades kindergarten to sixth grade.
Each week, explorers will be able to participate in sports, arts and crafts, swimming, tennis, library visits and more
Every week is a different theme with new activities and adventures. Director Kate Oleson is returning as are many of last year's counselors.
Program options include weekly full day for $170, weekly half day for $90, choose a full day for $40 or choose a half day for $30. Registration is available online at www.mattapoisett.net.
