This concert is made possible by Tabor Academy's Tomlinson Fund for Visiting Artists.
The New England Brass Band will perform at Tabor Academy’s Fireman Performing Arts Center on Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The concert is part of Tabor’s Tomlinson Fund for Visiting Artists.
The New England Brass Band was founded in 1988 and incorporated in 1998 as a nonprofit organization. It is a 30-piece brass and percussion ensemble, adhering to the instrumentation of the “British Brass Band” tradition. Based in the Boston area, the band rehearses weekly in Wilmington and draws auditioned volunteer players from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine.
Since the 2008 season, the New England Brass Band has been guided by the Stephen Bulla, former chief arranger for the “President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band. Bulla graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston. For 30 years, he provided musical scores for a myriad of White House events, beginning with the Reagan era until 2010.
Friday’s concert is free and open to the public.
