No injuries in Rochester fire
ROCHESTER — The Rochester Fire Department responded to a house fire on Stuart Road at approximately 5 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Residents and pets exited the house safely and were outdoors when firefighters arrived on the scene, reported the Rochester Fire Department in a Facebook post. There were no injuries.
According to the department, the homeowner called to report “a structure fire with smoke and fire inside the house.”
After approximately 45 minutes the fire department called the fire “under control,” read the Facebook post.
Fire departments from Mattapoisett, Marion, Freetown and Acushnet responded to provide assistance at the scene and station coverage for the town. The Rochester Police Department also assisted at the scene.
According to the Rochester Fire Department, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
