November events set at Mattapoisett Museum

The Mattapoisett Museum will host a series of events in November.

Discovery Days, a new program for individuals with dementia-related memory loss and their care partners, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4. During this one-hour program, individuals will make personal connections with artifacts, discussion, art making and multi-sensory activities facilitated by educators at the Mattapoisett Museum. This program is limited to 10 people with their care partners.

Southcoast Lessons presents New Sounds of Silents: Silent Films Set to Live Music at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. The program will feature fall holiday-themed silent shorts with multiple teams of performers backing them. Three films, including clips from Harold Lloyd's "Hot Water,"and  "The Freshman," will be featured. The event is free but space is limited. 

Southcoast Lessons presents open mic night at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19. All ages and genres are welcome, participants can sing, play instruments, read a poem or otherwise share their talents.

Rev. Lucia Jackson, bridge minister at Mattapoisett Congregational Church, will lead the annual church service at the museum at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21. 

Southcoast Lessons presents Old Time Fiddle Session, a gathering of traditional string band musicians and music lovers, at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28. Anyone who plays is invited to bring an instrument. 

All events are free but donations are always appreciated.
